Baccarat Online
Baccarat is one of the most popular card games in the Philippines. People play baccarat everywhere – from luxury casinos like Solaire and Okada to onlgaming sites and apps. The game is easy to learn and quickly to play. It feels proper and serious, but actually you don’t need any complicated strategies.

How to Play Baccarat
Baccarat is a casino card game. It is a game of chance, and it is based on players placing bets. You bet on which hand will win – the Player or the Banker. You can also bet on a Tie (that’s a riskier option – don’t do it if you are a beginner).
Terminology
- Player: one of the two hands in the game. It is a bit confusing, but the Player here is not you (the bettor), but just the name of one of the two hands you can bet on.
- Banker: the other hand in the game. Just like the “Player”, “Banker” is just a betting option. Good to know that the Banker bet actually wins slightly more often than the “Player”.
- Tie: you bet that both Player and Banker hands will have the same total. The probability of it happening is quite low, but it has very high payout potential. You need to feel very lucky to bet on Tie!
- Natural: a hand that totals 8 or 9 with the first two cards. This usually ends the round, since it’s a big number.
- Draw: a third card is automatically added to a hand based on fixed rules. You can’t choose when the Draw happens.
- Commission: a percentage (usually 5%) that the casino keeps from winning Banker hands.
- Payout: what you win if your bet is successful. Winning Player or Banker bets usually pay 1:1. Tie bets may pay 8:1 or 9:1.
How the game goes
Two hands are dealt each round – one for the Player and one for the Banker. Your goal is to get as close to nine points as possible.
Face cards (J, Q, K) and 10s count as zero points, Aces as one point. The rest of the cards count at their face value. If the value of the hand goes over 9, the last number is counted as your score (e.g. a hand of 7 and 8 adds up to 15, but your score will be 5 – tha last digit of 15).
Baccarat Odds
This is very important. You should know that baccarat has one of the lowest house edges of all casino games (meaning the highest chance of winning for the players).
- The Banker bet has the best odds. It wins more often. The house edge is only around 1.06%.
- The Player bet is also solid. The house edge of about 1.24%.
- The Tie bet pays out way more (typically 8:1, instead of 1:1 for the Player or the Banker), but it’s very rare to get a Tie. The house edge is over 14%, which means that your chances to win are much lower. Experienced players usually avoid the Tie and bet on Banker or Player. The Tie bet is for high rollers and risk takers.
Playing Baccarat Online
Since Baccarat is a very popular game, most online casinos have it. You just need to create an account, top up your balance, and you are ready to play. The most important thing is to pick the right platform. We strongly recommend to only play at PAGCOR-licensed casinos. This will guarantee the fair game and the safety of your winnings.
How to play
The rules are the same online as in the land-based casino. The main difference is that the minimum bets online are lower. A land-based casino typically requires you to bet ₱500 or more in each round. Online baccarat best often start at ₱20 or ₱50.
Otherwise, all you need to do when you join a baccarat table online is select your bet amount, choose if you want to bet on the Player, Banker, or on a Tie. Once you place your bet, the cards are dealt and the result shows on the screen right away. Sometimes a third card (the Draw) may be drawn for either of the hands. This happens automatically and handled by the system. You don’t need to do anything after placing your bet.
Different types of online baccarat
There are two main types – RNG baccarat (computer deals the cards) and Live dealer baccarat (a real person deals from a casino studio on live stream). Both options are common, and it’s really up to you to pick what you prefer.
There are also some modern twists on the traditional game. For example, you have Speed Baccarat, where rounds only last less than 30 seconds, and Lightning Baccarat, where each round randomly adds lightning multipliers (up to x8) to the winning hand.
Lastly, some casinos have a baccarat-inspired game Dragon Tiger. It’s very easy to pla. One card is dealt to the Dragon, one to the Tiger. The highest card wins.
Where to play baccarat online in the Philippines
Playing Baccarat in Land-Based Casinos in the Philippines
There are several top-tier casinos in the Philippines where you can play baccarat in real life. This is a very different kind of experience: more formal and fancy atmosphere and much higher stakes.
The most famous casinos where you can play baccarat in Metro Manila are Solaire Resort & Casino, Okada Manila, City of Dreams Manila, and Newport World Resorts. These are not just casinos, but actually resorts. There you can find expensive restaurants, event venues, SPA, but also of course gaming floors. These casinos have exclusive VIP rooms with professional dealers who speak English and Tagalog, and sometimes also Mandarin.
In Cebu you can play baccarat in Casino Filipino (very exclusive – minimum bets start from ₱2,000) and more chill, resort style NUSTAR, The Palace and Waterfront Casino.
You don’t go to land-based casinos just to play games. You go there for experience. Players are usually dressed beautifully (no flip-flops, shorts, or tank tops) and behave very properly. The minimum bets often start from ₱500 or even ₱1,000 per round (VIP tables go even higher). You need to bring a valid government-issued ID and follow the casino’s dress code to enter.
